- If you’re unsure if you have a deviated septum or not, there’s a small test you can do at home. Block one side of your nose by pressing against it with your finger. If you’re unable to breathe clearly through the other side and this is how it always is, you could have a deviated septum on the side on which you can’t breathe. Although this may be a good indicator, to get an accurate answer, you should make an appointment with an ENT doctor such as Dr. Reitzen.
